Allāhumma ʿālima-l-ghaybi wa-sh-shahādah, fāṭir-as-samāwāti wa-l-arḍi, rabba kulli shay’iw-wa malīkah, ash-hadu al-lā ilāha illā Anta, aʿūdhu bika min sharri nafsī wa min sharri-sh-shayṭāni wa shirkihī wa an aqtarifa ʿalā nafsī sū’an aw ajurrahū ilā muslim.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of everything; I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your protection from the evil of my own self, from the evil of Shaytān and from the evil of polytheism to which he calls, and from inflicting evil on myself, or bringing it upon a Muslim.
اے اللہ، غیب اور ظاہر کے جاننے والے، آسمانوں اور زمین کے خالق، ہر چیز کے مالک اور بادشاہ۔ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اپنے نفس کے شر سے، شیطان کے شر سے اور شرک کے شر سے جس کی طرف وہ بلاتا ہے، اور اپنے آپ پر برائی ڈالنے یا کسی مسلمان پر برائی کرنے سے۔
Abū Hurayrah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrates: “Abū Bakr (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, command me with something that I may say in the morning and evening.’ He ﷺ said: ‘Say: [the above].’ He said: ‘Say it in the morning, and evening, and when you retire to bed.’” (Tirmidhī 3392, 3529, Musnad Aḥmad 82)
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مجھے کسی ایسی بات کا حکم فرمائیں جو میں صبح و شام کہوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ کہو، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ کہو صبح و شام، اور جب صبح و شام کہو“۔ 3392، 3529، مسند احمد 82)
