میں شیطان مردود (کے شر سے )اللہ کی پناہ لیتا ہوں جو انتہائی عظمت والا ہے ، میں اس کے انتہائی محترم چہرے کی پناہ لیتا ہوں اور اس کے سلطانِ قدیم کی پناہ لیتا ہوں
َیوة بن شریح رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں عقبہ بن مسلم رحمہ اللہ سے ملا اور ان سے کہا کہ مجھے یہ بات پہنچی ہے کہ آپ عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ سے، وہ نبی کریم ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ جب مسجد میں داخل ہوتے تو فرمایا کرتے تھے:اَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰہِ الْعَظِیْمِ وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْکَرِیْمِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِیْمِ مِنَ الشَّیْطَانِ الرَّجِیْمِ۔انہوں نے کہا: بس اتنا ہی؟ میں نے کہا: ہاں، انہوں نے کہا: انسان جب یہ کہہ لیتا ہے تو شیطان کہتا ہے کہ آج سارے دن کے لیے یہ مجھ سے محفوظ ہوگیا۔(سنن أبی داود: 466)
