Amsaynā wa amsa-l-mulku li-llāhi Rabbi-l-ʿālamīn, Allāhumma innī as’aluka khayra hādhihi-l-laylah, fatḥahā wa naṣrahā wa nūrahā wa barakatahā wa hudāhā, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā fīhā wa sharri mā baʿdahā.
We have entered the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this day/night: its victory, its help, its light, and its blessings and guidance. I seek Your protection from the evil that is in it and from the evil that follows it.
ہم نے شام کی اور اﷲ رب العالمین کے ملک نے بھی شام کی ۔ اے اﷲ ! میں تجھ سے اس رات کی خیر ‘ کامیابی ‘ مدد ‘ نور ‘ برکت اور ہدایت کا سوال کرتا ہوں اور اس شر سے جو اس میں ہے اور اس کے بعد ہے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں ۔
Abū Mālik al-Ashʿarī (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When one of you enters the morning, they should say [the above]; and when they reach the evening, they should say the same.” (Abū Dāwūd 5084)
ابومالک اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم میں سے کوئی صبح کرے تو یہ کہے اور جب شام کو پہنچے تو وہی کہے۔ (ابو داؤد 5084)
