Allāhumma innī as’aluka-th-thabāta fil-amr, wa-l-ʿazīmata ʿala-r-rushd, wa as’aluka mūjibāti raḥmatik, wa ʿazā’ima maghfiratik, wa as’aluka shukra niʿmatik, wa ḥusna ʿibādatik, wa as’aluka qalban salīmā, wa lisānan ṣādiqā, wa as’aluka min khayri mā taʿlam, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā taʿlam, wa astaghfiruka limā taʿlam, innaka Anta ʿAllāmul-ghuyūb.
O Allah, I beg you for steadfastness in all matters and the determination to take the right course. I ask You for all that which will necessitate Your mercy and the determination to do all that which will necessitate Your forgiveness. I ask You to make me grateful for Your blessings and to worship You in an excellent manner. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good of what You know, I seek Your protection from the evil of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the All-Knowing of the unseen.
اے اللہ میں تجھ سے تمام معاملات میں ثابت قدمی اور صحیح راستہ اختیار کرنے کے عزم کی التجا کرتا ہوں۔ میں تجھ سے ہر وہ چیز مانگتا ہوں جو تیری رحمت کا محتاج ہو اور ہر وہ کام کرنے کا عزم جو تیری بخشش کا محتاج ہو۔ میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ مجھے اپنی نعمتوں کا شکر ادا کرنے اور بہترین طریقے سے تیری عبادت کرنے کی توفیق عطا فرما۔ میں تجھ سے صاف دل اور سچی زبان کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔ میں تجھ سے اس چیز کی بھلائی کا سوال کرتا ہوں جو تو جانتا ہے، میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں اس کے شر سے جو تو جانتا ہے، اور میں تیری بخشش چاہتا ہوں اس کے لیے جو تو جانتا ہے۔ بے شک تو غیب کا جاننے والا ہے۔
Shaddād b. Aws (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was teaching this duā to me. he said: “O Shaddād, when you see people collecting gold & silver as their treasures, then consider [the above] as your treasure.” (Ahmad 17155)
شداد ب اوس رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مجھے یہ دعا سکھا رہے تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اے شداد جب تم لوگوں کو سونا چاندی جمع کرتے ہوئے دیکھو تو اپنا خزانہ سمجھو۔ (احمد 17155)
