Asking for Jannah al-Firdaws

Abū Hurayrah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated that the the Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, offers prayer perfectly and fasts the month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah’s Cause or remains in the land where he is born.” The people said, “O Messenger of Allah! Shall we inform the people of this good news?” He said, “Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the warriors who fight in His Cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heaven and the Earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for al-Firdaws which is the best and highest part of Paradise.” The sub-narrator added, “I think the Prophet ﷺ also said, ‘Above it (i.e. al-Firdaws) is the Throne of Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise.”) (Bukhārī 2790)Muʿādh b. Jabal (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When you ask Allah, ask for al-Firdaws (the highest level of Jannah).” (Tirmidhī 2530)

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان رکھتا ہے، پوری نماز پڑھتا ہے اور رمضان کے روزے رکھتا ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ اسے حق کے ساتھ جنت عطا کرے گا، خواہ وہ اللہ کی راہ میں لڑے یا اس زمین میں رہے جہاں وہ پیدا ہوا ہے۔ لوگوں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ کیا ہم لوگوں کو یہ بشارت دیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جنت کے سو درجات ہیں جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنی راہ میں لڑنے والوں کے لیے مخصوص کیے ہیں اور ہر دو درجے کے درمیان اتنا فاصلہ ہے جتنا کہ آسمان و زمین کا فاصلہ ہے، لہٰذا جب تم اللہ سے کچھ مانگو تو فردوس مانگو جو کہ جنت کا بہترین اور بلند ترین حصہ ہے۔ ذیلی راوی نے مزید کہا کہ میرا خیال ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ بھی فرمایا ہے کہ اس کے اوپر رحمٰن کا عرش ہے اور اس سے جنت کی نہریں نکلتی ہیں۔ جبل رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم اللہ سے مانگو تو فردوس (جنت کا اعلیٰ درجہ) مانگو۔ (ترمذی 2530)
