Allāhumma āti nafsī taqwāhā, wa zakkihā Anta khayru man zakkāhā, Anta Walliyuhā wa Mawlāhā, Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min ʿilmi-l-lā yanfaʿ, wa min qalbi-l-lā yakhshaʿ, wa min nafsi-l-lā tashbaʿ, wa min daʿwati-l-lā yustajābu lahā.
O Allah, grant my soul taqwā (piety) and purify it, for You are the Best of those who can purify it. You are its Protector and Master. O Allah, I seek Your protection from knowledge which does not benefit, a heart which does not submit, a soul which is not satisfied and a supplication which is not accepted.
اے اللہ میرے نفس کو تقویٰ عطا فرما اور اسے پاک کر دے کیونکہ تو اس کو پاک کرنے والوں میں سب سے بہتر ہے۔ تو اس کا محافظ اور مالک ہے۔ اے اللہ میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں ایسے علم سے جو نفع نہ دے، ایسے دل سے جو مطیع نہ ہو، ایسی روح جو مطمئن نہ ہو اور ایسی دعا سے جو قبول نہ ہو۔
Zayd b. Arqam (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhā) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would supplicate, “O Allah, I seek refuge in you from disability, laziness, cowardice, miserliness, old age, and the punishment of the grave. Then he said [the above].” (Muslim 2722)
زید بی۔ ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ دعا کرتے کہ اے اللہ میں تجھ سے معذوری، سستی، بزدلی، کنجوسی، بڑھاپے اور عذاب قبر سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا۔ (مسلم 2722)
