Allāhumma innī as’aluka shahādatan fī sabīlik.
O Allah, I beg you for martyrdom in Your path.
اے اللہ میں تجھ سے تیری راہ میں شہادت مانگتا ہوں۔
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever asks for martyrdom with sincerity will be ranked by Allah among the martyrs even if he died on his bed.” (Muslim 1909)Zayd b. Aslam (raḥimahullāh) narrates that ʿUmar b. Khattab (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) would say [the above] and add: “and death in the city of your beloved.” (Muwatta 1003)
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے اخلاص کے ساتھ شہادت کی دعا مانگی، اللہ تعالیٰ اسے شہداء میں شمار کرے گا، خواہ وہ اپنے بستر پر ہی مرے۔ (مسلم 1909) زید بن۔ اسلم (رحمہ اللہ) بیان کرتے ہیں کہ عمر بن خطاب (رضی اللہ عنہ) [اوپر والا] کہتے اور اضافہ کرتے: "اور اپنے محبوب کے شہر میں موت۔" (موطا 1003)
